The chronicle of the Realm
Long before you got here, the Realm was already old. Eleven provinces, one crown and more quarrels than peace. This is what the scribes wrote down about it, as far as they agreed.
The Old Realm: 712 to 903
The Realm began in Westfall, as a handful of farms behind an earthen wall. Aldwin the Red was a landless serf who chased the robbers out of the Vale Woods, kept their horses and had his neighbours proclaim him lord. His grandson already wore a crown. Province after province joined: by marriage, by treaty or by siege.
How people lived there
An old saying from Westfall sums up life in the Realm in a few lines, which every pedlar can still recite:
Steal the fastest horses.
Buy the best weapons and armour.
Found your own noble house.
Own land with inns, taverns and dice houses.
Buy fletcheries, toll posts and racecourses.
The empty throne
In the year 903 King Edric the Silent died without an heir. The dukes couldn't agree on a successor and decided to fight over it instead. The crown vanished into the treasury of Kingsbridge, the dragon of Drakeshore woke up, and the Wilds grew right up to the city walls. Since then no one has ascended the throne.
Realm of Rogues begins here
In Realm of Rogues you pick up the chronicle where the scribes left it. You start as a serf in Westfall and fight your way up: with crimes, stealing horses, noble houses, the tavern, the gambling den, the dungeon and the infirmary. It works on your smartphone, you can play it in five languages, and the Realm grows with the number of players.
What you find along the way
Your own camp to build up, the Wilds with bandit nests and burial mounds, gold coins to skip waiting times, 36 personal quests with three levels, monthly events such as the Land War, rounds of six months with a hall of fame, and regular characters such as the Herald and Isolde the innkeeper whom you meet along the way.
